Jonesboro, Louisiana

March 8, 2005

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Jonesboro, Louisiana met in regular session at their regular meeting place, the City Hall, 128 Allen Avenue, Jonesboro, Louisiana at seven o’clock p.m.

Mayor Essmeier called the meeting to order, Mr. Wiley led the Pledge of Allegiance and Mr. Stringer gave the Invocation.

The roll was called and the following members were present:

            Mayor:   Don L. Essmeier

       Aldermen:   Randy Layfield, Randy Shows, Aaron Stringer, Terry Wiley, Nancy Zuber

            Absent:   None

Motion by Mr. Layfield, second Mrs. Zuber approving the minutes of the February 8, 2005 meeting.  All voted in favor and the minutes were approved.

Motion by Mr. Shows, second Mr. Stringer approving the monthly bills.  All voted in favor and motion carried.

Motion by Mr. Shows, second Mr. Layfield granting a request from Mrs. Dorothy Riddle to abandon the alley between the property on Polk Avenue that belongs to Dr. Josh Franklin and Mr. Bob Traina.  Mrs. Riddle is purchasing the property from Dr. Franklin and Mr. Traina and donating it to the Council on Aging with the intent that they will build a Senior Center in the future.  All voted in favor and the motion carried.

Motion by Mrs. Zuber, second Mr. Wiley authorizing Mayor Essmeier to enter into an Engineering Agreement with Cothren, Graff, Smoak Engineering relative to the Cynthia Street Lift Station Project.  All voted in favor and motion carried.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr. Layfield, second Mrs. Zuber.  All voted in favor and the meeting was adjourned.
