The Mayor and Board
of Aldermen
of the Town of Jonesboro, Louisiana met in regular session at their
regular
meeting place, the City Hall,
Mayor Essmeier called the meeting to order and Mr. Shows led the Pledge of Allegiance and Mr. Layfield gave the Invocation.
The roll was called and the following members were present:
Mayor: Don L. Essmeier
Aldermen: Randy Layfield, Randy Shows, Aaron Stringer, Terry Wiley, Nancy Zuber
Absent: None
Motion by Mr. Wiley, second Mr. Shows approving the minutes of the December 14, 2004 meeting. All voted in favor and the minutes were approved.
Motion by Mr. Layfield, second Mr. Shows approving the Certificate of Completion relative to the 2004 Street Improvement Project as submitted by Mr. Brad Graff, Engineer. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Mr. Brad Graff, Engineer spoke to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen about a possible bond issue for repairs and improvements to the water and sewer systems.
Motion by Mr. Layfield, second Mrs. Zuber to enter into an Agreement with Cothren, Graff, Smoak Engineering to do a feasibility study of the Town’s water and sewer systems for the possibility of a bond issue for needed repairs and improvements. All voted in favor and motion carried.
A request has been
made by a
citizen about the possibility of building a private hangar at the
Motion by Mr. Shows, second Mr. Stringer authorizing Mayor Essmeier to sign all necessary papers to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the Jackson Parish Police Jury relative to the Office of Domestic Preparedness State Homeland Security Grant. All voted in favor and the motion carried.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr. Stringer, second Mrs. Zuber. All voted in favor and the meeting was adjourned.
