Jonesboro, Louisiana

February 8, 2005

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Jonesboro, Louisiana met in regular session at their regular meeting place, the City Hall, 128 Allen Avenue, Jonesboro, Louisiana at seven o’clock p.m.

Mayor Essmeier called the meeting to order and Mrs. Zuber led the Pledge of Allegiance and Mr. Shows gave the Invocation.

The roll was called and the following members were present:

            Mayor:   Don L. Essmeier

       Aldermen:   Randy Layfield, Randy Shows, Aaron Stringer,  Nancy Zuber

            Absent:   Terry Wiley

Motion by Mr. Layfield, second Mr. Shows approving the minutes of the January 11, 2005 meeting.  All voted in favor and the minutes were approved.

Motion by Mr. Stringer, second Mrs. Zuber approving the monthly bills for payment.  All voted in favor and the motion carried.

Motion by Mr. Layfield, second Mr. Stringer approving Change Order #1, Lincoln Asphalt Paving, Inc.  in the amount of $7,217.00 increase,  relative to the 2004 Street Improvement Project, the increase represented a surplus of road base material that the town will keep.  All voted in favor and the Change Order was approved.

Motion by Mrs. Zuber, second Mr. Shows approving Partial Payment Estimate #1, Lincoln Asphalt Paving, Inc., in the amount of $273,348.00 for work done relative to the 2004 Street Improvement Project.  All voted in favor and the pay estimate was approved.

Motion by Mr. Layfield, second Mrs. Zuber declaring Fire Engine #1, a 1964 Ford, to be surplus property and authorizing Mayor Essmeier to go out to bid to sell it.  Fire Chief Tim Wyatt told the Mayor and Board of Aldermen that the truck has not been in service for the past five years and the repairs that it needs to make it serviceable would be very costly.  All voted in favor and the motion carried.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr. Layfield, second Mrs. Zuber.  All voted in favor and the meeting was adjourned.
